64 without job offer
108 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand. 80 EOIs were selected that had a points total between 100 and 135, without a job offer, but with points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. 68 EOIs were selected that had a points total between 100 and 135, without a job offer, but with 10 points claimed for a qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage. 128 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 115 or more but less than 140. These EOIs did not claim points for skilled employment in New Zealand, or for work experience or a qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage. These EOIs were ranked in descending order of points. (A total of 807 EOIs were therefore selected) Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 29% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 71% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help. The next selection will take place on Wednesday 20th May 2009.
