Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection on 2nd June 2010
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 2 June 2010: 352 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
294 with job offer
58 without job offer
82 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand. 39 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. 85 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 125 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 10 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. (A total of 558 EOIs were therefore selected) Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 13% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 87% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help. The next selection will take place on Wednesday 16th June 2010.
