Skilled Migrant Category - Expression of Interest Selection on 10th March 2010
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 10 March 2010: 375 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
320 with job offer
55 without job offer
120 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand. 58 EOIs were selected that had a points total between 115 and 135, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. (A total of 553 EOIs were therefore selected) Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 11% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 89% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help. The next selection will take place on Wednesday 24th March 2010.
