New Zealand Skilled Migrant Category Expression of Interest Selection – 19th October 2011
The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 19th October 2011:
405 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
342 with job offer
63 without job offer
98 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled jobs in New Zealand.
51 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 125 or more but less than 140, and included 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage
A total of 628 EOIs representing 1,359 people were therefore selected
Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 13% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 87% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help
