Australia has The World’s Most Liveable Cities

August 21, 2012

For the second year running, the Australian city of Melbourne has edged out Vienna to take the title of the "world's most liveable city."

Three of Australia's other major cities also feature in the top 10 – Adelaide, Sydney and Perth – with the popular coastal city of Brisbane coming 20th.

The cities were separated by just 1.6 percentage points, with very little separating the top Australian cities, according to Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) survey editor Jon Copestake.

"Australian cities continue to thrive in terms of liveability – not only do they benefit from the natural advantages of low population density, but they have continued to improve with some high profile infrastructure investments," he said.

“In Adelaide, projects completed in recent years under the Strategic Infrastructure Plan for South Australia have been enough to move the city above Sydney.”

The survey covered 140 cities worldwide and looked at health care, stability, education, infrastructure and culture and environment.

If you are looking for a better work / life balance and fantastic weather then why not move to one of the world's most liveable cities

With four of the world’s top ten cities, Australia can offer great lifestyle choices and an abundance of jobs to anyone who is looking for career development and job security.
