Prepare!
So you know what visa you can apply for and you’re starting the process. Before you consider lodging a visa application to Australia, there are many things you must do in advance. Failure to prepare the right paperwork or take the right assessments and tests beforehand could leave you with a failed application.
Depending on which visa is best for you, you may need to complete a skills assessment. With 32 different assessing authorities, it is essential you know which one is the correct one for your occupation, and have the assessment presented to them with all the correct documentation to achieve a successful result.
Some people will need an English language test, again it is essential that you know what is involved with this, whether you need it and if so, what score you must achieve to be eligible.
Do you need a state or family sponsor? Many applicants do, and it is something that must be decided on prior to lodging a visa application. We can help you understand which states are sponsoring your occupation, if you meet the criteria for the government and whether your family can have an impact.
For some, securing a job offer in Australia is the best way in. Should this be the case, it’s essential you know what the obligations are and how to find the employers that will be able to contribute to your visa application.
Once you’ve completed the necessary processes above, it is then important to prepare all the paperwork necessary for your visa lodgement in advance. You must understand what documentation the immigration department will want from you, and in what format. When it comes to the time that you need these documents, you won’t have to stress about where everything is.
As a client with The Emigration Group, we will organise all the preparation work, and submit any applications necessary to get you in the right position for a successful visa application.
Expression of interest
When lodging an expression of interest, you are telling the Australian immigration department what visa you are applying for and showing them you are eligible. With this stage, the devil is in the detail - it’s critical that all information entered and points claimed are 100% accurate, as one mistake could cost you your entire visa application, wasting significant time and money.
As a client with The Emigration Group, we will prepare and lodge the Expression of Interest on your behalf to ensure no mistakes are made and the application is as stress-free as possible.
Important information
Mistakes or inaccuracies in your applications sometimes may result in delays, or even refusal.
Selection and visa lodgement
So you’ve lodged your Expression of Interest and the Australian department of immigration have selected your case. When this happens, you will have just 60 days to lodge your visa application. It’s not much time to get it right, and is usually where a migration agent is of great help.
All the planning and preparation from stage 3 will now pay off, as you won’t have to scramble for the various documents and evidence you need!
When you lodge an application to Australia, it is essential that all paperwork and evidence is 100% accurate. Your Visa Manager at The Emigration Group will compile this for you and lodge the application on your behalf, ensuring that nothing is missed or incorrectly formatted.
When you lodge an application, you will pay your fee to the Australian government. This varies depending on the visa subclass, and how many dependants are on the application. For larger families, this application fee can exceed £4000. Get this part wrong, and you are likely to lose this fee. One mistake can be very costly, sometimes surpassing the cost of a migration agent such as The Emigration Group to handle the entire process.
Police and medical checks
Police and medical checks are requirements for most Australian visa applications, depending on the subclass you’ll need to know which to do in order to support the application. These are very specific checks that must be done with the relevant authorities. We can advise you on what you need, where to go and how to do it.
Visa approval
Your visa is granted and your move to Australia can now commence! Time to celebrate your success and finalise plans for moving you, your family and belongings to your new life. You will have a time window in which you must enter Australia, which varies depending on the visa you’ve applied for. As your supporting agent, we will guide you through your visa validation entry, your move to Australia, setting up your new life in the country and even obtaining citizenship.
